How to Make Homemade Corn-Dogs?
Ingredients:
- 1 cup of yellow cornmeal
- 1 cup of all-purpose flour
- ¼ cup of sugar
- 1 tablespoon of baking powder
- ½ teaspoon of salt
- 1 egg
- 1 ¼ cups of milk
- 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil
- 4-6 hot dogs
- 4-6 wooden skewers
- Vegetable oil (for frying)
Instructions:
- Heat the vegetable oil in a deep fryer or a large pot over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F.
- In a mixing bowl, combine the cornmeal, flour, baking powder, salt, and sugar.
- In a separate bowl, whisk the egg and milk together.
- Add the egg and milk mixture to the dry ingredients and mix until well combined.
- Insert a wooden skewer into each hot dog, leaving about 2 inches exposed.
- Dip each hot dog into the batter, coating it evenly.
- Carefully place the battered hot dogs into the hot oil and deep-fry for about 3-4 minutes or until golden brown.
- Remove the corn-dogs from the hot oil using tongs and place them on a paper towel to drain excess oil.
- Serve hot with ketchup, mustard, or any of your favorite dipping sauces.
