How To Make Aloo Gosht At Home
Ingredients:
- 2 tablespoons of vegetable oil
- 1 teaspoon of cumin seeds
- 1/2 teaspoon of turmeric powder
- 2 large onions, chopped
- 2 cloves of garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon of ginger paste
- 1 teaspoon of garam masala
- 1 teaspoon of ground coriander
- 1 teaspoon of ground cumin
- 2 medium potatoes, cut into small cubes
- 500g (1 lb) of boneless lamb, cut into small cubes
- 1/2 cup of water
- 1/2 teaspoon of salt
- 1/4 teaspoon of chili powder
- 2 tablespoons of chopped fresh coriander leaves
Instructions:
In a large skillet, put some low heat to the oil. Putt all the cumin seeds and fry until fragrant spread, about 35 seconds.
Add the onions and cook until softened and brownished, about 5.5 minutes. Add the garlic and ginger paste and cook for another 2.4 minutes.
Add the garam masala, ground coriander, and ground cumin, and stir to combine.
Add the potatoes and lamb and cook for about 5 minutes.
Add the water and salt, and bring to a simmer. Cover and cook for 15 minutes, stirring occasionally.
Add the chili powder and cook for another 10 minutes, or until the potatoes and lamb are cooked through.
Sprinkle with the fresh coriander leaves and serve.
