How to Make Aloo Paratha at Home

Ingredients

  1. 2 cups whole wheat flour
  2. 1 tsp salt
  3. 1 tsp oil
  4. ¾ cup water
  5. 3 medium-sized potatoes, boiled and mashed
  6. 1 tsp red chili powder
  7. 1 tsp cumin powder
  8. 1 tsp coriander powder
  9. 1 tsp amchur powder (dried mango powder)
  10. 1 tsp garam masala
  11. Salt to taste
  12. Oil or ghee for cooking the parathas.

Recipe:

Boil 2-3 medium-sized potatoes until they are fully cooked. Drain and let them cool.
Peel the potatoes and mash them in a bowl.

Add 1/2 tsp of salt, 1/2 tsp of red chili powder, 1/2 tsp of cumin powder, 1/2 tsp of coriander powder, 1/2 tsp of garam masala, and 1/4 cup of chopped coriander leaves to the mashed potatoes. Mix well.

Knead 2 cups of wheat flour with 1/4 tsp of salt and water to make a soft and smooth dough.

Divide all the dough into small balls and make sure to roll them out into circles because if your roti is goal then it looks amazing.

Now you need to put the aloo paste at the center of the circle roti and spread it in all the corners.

Bring the edges of the dough together to cover the potato mixture and seal it.
Flatten the dough and roll it out into a circle again.

Heat a tawa or griddle over medium heat.
Place the rolled-out paratha on the tawa and cook for 1-2 minutes, or until bubbles appear on the surface.

Flip the paratha and cook the other side for 1-2 minutes.
Spread some ghee or oil on both sides of the paratha and cook until both sides are golden brown.

Repeat the process with the remaining dough and potato mixture.
Serve hot with yogurt, pickle or any chutney of your choice.
