How to Make Matar Keema At Home
Matar Keema is a popular North Indian dish made with minced meat and green peas. It is typically served with rice or flatbread and is known for its spicy and flavorful taste. The dish can be made with various types of meat, such as lamb, beef, or chicken, and is seasoned with a blend of aromatic spices.
Ingredients:
- 1 lb ground beef or lamb
- 1 cup green peas (fresh or frozen)
- 1 large onion, finely chopped
- 2-3 garlic cloves, minced
- 1-inch piece of ginger, grated
- 2-3 green chilies, finely chopped (optional)
- 2-3 tbsp oil or ghee
- 1 tsp cumin seeds
- 1 tsp coriander powder
- 1 tsp cumin powder
- 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
- 1/2 tsp red chili powder
- Salt to taste
- Fresh cilantro leaves for garnish (optional)
Instructions
Heat oil in a pan and add chopped onions. Saute until onions turn golden brown.
Add minced meat and cook until it turns brown.
Add ginger garlic paste and stir well.
Add chopped tomatoes and cook until they become soft and mushy.
Add coriander powder, cumin powder, turmeric powder, red chili powder, and salt. Mix well.
Add frozen peas and stir.
Cover the pan and cook on low heat for 10-15 minutes.
Add garam masala and mix well.
Garnish with fresh cilantro leaves and serve hot with rice or roti.
