Rinse 1 cup of basmati rice and soak it in water for at least 30 minutes.
In a separate pan, heat 2 tablespoons of oil and add 1 chopped onion. Cook until the onion is soft and translucent.

Add 1 tablespoon of minced ginger and 1 tablespoon of minced garlic to the pan and cook for another minute.

Add 1 chopped tomato and cook until it has softened.

Add your choice of spices, such as 1 teaspoon of cumin powder, 1 teaspoon of coriander powder, and 1/2 teaspoon of turmeric powder, and cook for a few seconds.

Add 1 cup of chopped vegetables, such as potatoes, carrots, or peas, and cook until they are tender.

Add one cup of water and wait for the mixture to be boiled.
Drain the soaked rice & put all the rice into the pan. Stir well and bring to a boil.

Reduce the heat to low, cover the pan, and let the rice cook for 15-20 minutes or until all the water has been absorbed.
